Create the Add Artist screen

To add artists/performers/groups to a set list for a stage an extra screen is used. In our example we created the screen showed below. You can create the same or your own.

Tip:
Click with your right mouse button on the project name ("Floorplan") and then choose Add --> Windows Form.

Please pay attention on which name you give to the screen (=Form) so that you can find it much better later on when you're writing code (for example "frmAddArtist"). The same has to be applied to all screen elements (the Labels, TextBoxes and Buttons). Give them a handy name in such a way that when writing code you can find them easily and (very important) your code is much more "readable". At this moment this doesn't seem so important but when you're going to write some code you'll discover that using good/solid names for objects come in very handy and is wise to do.

Tip 1:
For creating this screen you'll use the Toolbox (normally found on the left side of the Visual Studio screen). Use the pin (on top of the Toolbox Window) to make the Toolbox always visible.

Tip 2:
When you want to give a name to a TexBox (or other screen element) then look in the Properties Window. Below you'll see an animated gif which show an example of how you can do this.

Giving good names to objects is planning/thinking ahead. Don't just think about creating the screen but also the code you'll write afterwards. This code will "work" with some of the objects and then it's very handy (read: important) that the object has a good name (preferably which tells what it is).

If you have several objects which practically do or mean the same then it's smart to use a "1", "2", "3", etc. in the name (say "txtTime1", "txtTime2", ...). Why? .. You'll see later on in this course.
